Parts Picker - Laser Department
Circle Pines, MN
We are looking for a talented individual to join our company as a parts picker in the Laser department. This individual will have knowledge of the inventory system and processes, experience with the material handling equipment, and perform the job safely, efficiently and accurately. The Parts Picker must take into account proper lifting/bending techniques. Parts Picker must be pro-active in utilizing provided equipment and optimize ergonomics and minimize excessive twisting, bending and possible strains.
3rd Shift Position (11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Must learn inventory computer systems and procedures, and is responsible for accurate inventory transactions.
• Assist operators with the selection of proper request tags.
• Assist operators in the Laser department, bringing parts and materials to operators, remove parts and materials when needed.
• Remove scrap, assemble boxes and pull brakes when needed.
• Responsible for accurate hand counts or weight counts of parts.
• Responsible for inventory or scrap material disposals.
• Responsible for forklift inspection at the start of shift and changing batteries. Charge batteries as needed.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Thorough knowledge of inventory system and demonstrates both written and verbal inventory system knowledge in the following areas:
-Red Tag, Rework, Added Operations, job changes, transaction history, impact on job costs, problem solving and accurate cycle counts.
• Fork truck license, training and experience to qualify for turret side-loader fork truck position
• Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs
• Must have basic math skills
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must have good communication skills
• Willing to work overtime (weekdays and weekends)
• Good understanding of ergonomics
• Basic understanding of hand tools
Reporting Relationships
Reports to Laser department supervisor. Works with the Inventory Coordinator, Manufacturing management team, Schedulers and lead personnel
Must be open to comments and constructive criticism from co-workers in higher classifications, but will get instruction from lead person and supervisors. Will assist individuals lower in classification when requested to do so by the shift lead or supervisor
