Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Workers Compensation/Safety
- Process and manage all claims
- Manage OSHA 300 logs
- Annually prepare Worker’s Compensation reports for re-insurance and annual audit.
- Manage annually training requirements
- Conduct mock OSHA audits
Employee Relations/Training
- Maintain employee confidentiality with all HR matters
- Develop and administer union and non-union HR policies, procedures and programs.
- Work directly with supervisors and employees (union and non-union) on employee relation matters including but not limited to: morale, benefits, worker’s comp., safety, concerns, terminations and all benefit matters.
- Lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity and standards, continuous improvement and high performance.
- Develop and conduct training in relations to HR matters.
- Advise leadership team on employment decisions
Employee Data/File Management
- Maintain HRIS data and employee files.
- Process new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Manage regular management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.
- Update/maintain employee records and approving changes in salary, job titles, department changes, shift changes, exemptions, insurance coverage, etc.
- Participate in wage/benefit surveys. Continually review market data on HR topics.
Recruiting/On-boarding
- Recruiting and staffing logistics, including temporary staffing needs. This includes resume review, interviewing, job postings, setting up interviews with supervisors, job reviews, etc.
- Ensure completion of NEO/Onboarding.
Compliance
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications and attending necessary training seminars.
- Administer/track FMLA/LOA/STD/ADA requests for both union and non-union employees.
- Regulatory reporting (i.e. EEO).
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advise management on any needed actions.
Benefits
- Annually prepare the 401K Plan census.
- Administer and maintain company benefit programs.
- Critically review and analyze current benefits in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.
- Advise employees on eligibility, coverage, and other benefit matters.
- Manage annual open enrollment, late enrollees, and various life events.
- Make necessary changes to benefit enrollments (i.e. changes, addition of dependents, etc.)
- Ensure 401K plan fiduciary responsibilities are met.

- Strong knowledge of state and federal laws and other applicable compliance requirements.
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Able to work independently
- Experience with employee relations for both union and non-union environments preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- 3+ Years of relevant Human Resources experience
- Experience with employee relations for both union and non-union environment preferred
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Etc.)
