Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Summary
- Maintain and service automation equipment including: Robotic welding cells, safety devices, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, press brake controls.
- Work with engineering in the design, construction, and implementation of automated systems including: Research and recommend devices for implementation, Procure quotes from automation suppliers, Execute from concept to implementation.
- Conceive, design, install, start-up, and commission small scale automation/control improvement projects and support larger scale capital projects implemented at sites.
- Resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Understanding of weld processes GMAW, GTAW, PAW, RW.
- Create drawings, documents, and schematics for existing and new automated systems and keep them up to date.
- Sets up interference zones with PLC or light curtains.
- Schedule and work with site contacts and contractors.
- Strive for continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Understanding of Automation and control systems common components and ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and configure not limited to motors, valves, limit switches, and ladder logic
- Strong PLC and Robot Programming skills (Motoman, and Fanuc robots.)
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC ladder logic
- Proficient in advanced mechanical assemblies, sensor technology, pneumatics, setups and adjustments
- Knowledgeable in computing systems and control system hardware including instrumentation PLC and HMI equipment
- Ability to read and interpret documents including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatics
- Experience with advanced robot mechanical, controller, torch and work cell repairs
- Mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic maintenance
- Ability to Diagnose, Service and or Repair Equipment
- Be a self-starter and team player
- Exhibit a high level of safety
- PLC and Robot Programming: 3-5 years
- 3-5 years workable experience as a Robot Technician
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, schedule form.
- General math skills required.
- Forklift Certified
- High school, GED, Vocational High School, Technical College, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training.
